About
The Asian American Students Association was created in 1975. Our goal is to advocate unity among Asian and Asian Americans. In so doing, AASA promotes the views, voices, and experiences of Asian and Asian American students; it provides Asian and Asian American students with a concrete political, educational, and social foundation, and promotes the understanding and awareness of the Asian and Asian American cultures.
The association has also been collaborating with administration, faculty, staff and student groups in advocating for the establishment of an Asian American studies program. Asian students are the largest minority on campus, but there is a lack of educational programs to educate students regarding Asian and Asian American history and cultures.
